USDA Rural Development’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) is a grant (and loan guarantee) program meant to spur energy projects in rural communities. REAP grants can fund up to 50% of total project costs for energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy projects for rural small businesses and agricultural producers.
REAP grants can fund projects such as, irrigation efficiency and pump upgrades, solar, lighting, micro-hydropower, biomass, etc. The state of Oregon is receiving 3-5 times the amount of funding than years past for this program. There are four quarterly application deadlines each federal fiscal year. December 31, 2023 March 31, 2024 June 30, 2024 September 30, 2024 Wy’East RC&D can assist producers and rural small businesses with no cost project support, development assistance, and grant writing to ensure successful submission of complete USDA REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) grant applications to USDA Rural Development. We ensure technical assistance is equitably distributed to Oregon’s producers and rural small businesses leading to on the ground energy savings and generation in Rural Oregon communities.
