USDA Rural Development’s Rural Energy for America grant Program (REAP)

12/21/2023

USDA Rural Development’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) is a grant (and loan guarantee) program meant to spur energy projects in rural communities. REAP grants can fund up to 50% of total project costs for energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy projects for rural small businesses and agricultural producers.

REAP grants can fund projects such as, irrigation efficiency and pump upgrades, solar, lighting, micro-hydropower, biomass, etc. The state of Oregon is receiving 3-5 times the amount of funding than years past for this program. There are four quarterly application deadlines each federal fiscal year.

Wy’East RC&D can assist producers and rural small businesses with no cost project support, development assistance, and grant writing to ensure successful submission of complete USDA REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) grant applications to USDA Rural Development. We ensure technical assistance is equitably distributed to Oregon’s producers and rural small businesses leading to on the ground energy savings and generation in Rural Oregon communities.

Those who are interested in applying or want to understand what funding options are available for their project, please contact Wy’East:
