Malus (Pyrus) fusca, 1 gal.
Pacific crabapple is well suited to wet and poorly draining parts of a garden. Unlike its more delicate cousins, it can live near salt water and in heavy clay soils. Fragrant white to pink flowers bloom in spring and mature into small fruits (pomes) in late summer to early fall, providing late-season food for wildlife. The foliage turns red and orange in the fall and complements the golden-red mature fruits.
