Description: The big leaf maple is a majestic addition to any landscape. This fast-growing deciduous tree that can grow to an impressive 100 ft and is well suited to Pacific Northwest gardens. The eponymous 5-pointed leaves form a stunning canopy and provide shade throughout summer, eventually turning color and dropping in the fall. Its sturdy branches and trunk can support moss and lichens as well as swings, hammocks, or treehouses. It prefers sun to partial sun, although it tolerates shade.
