Ceanothus velutinus, 3"x9" band pot
Snowbrush puts on a fantastic show in mid spring to early summer with profuse clusters of tiny white flowers; the overall effect being that of a fragrant snow drift. The bright green oval leaves are shiny and thick and have a fragrant sticky resin. Its multi-stemmed spreading habit lends itself to privacy screens or the hedgerow. This evergreen shrub prefers full sun and does well in disturbed sites where its deep nitrogen-fixing roots can improve soil conditions. Plant in well-drained soils as it doesn't tolerate overwatering.
