Description: Tufted hairgrass is cool-season, clump-forming grass with airy, brilliant green foliage. Its attractive hair-like flowering branches start out purple and turn a warmer, tawny color over the season. The seeds are great for bringing birds to the garden. It tolerates salty conditions and grows best in moist, open areas with acidic soils. This adaptable grass can withstand both seasonal drought and seasonal flooding.
