What we do & HOW We Help

The Polk SWCD strives to deliver natural resource conservation education and technical assistance programs that affect positive, measurable improvements to the environment, and instill stewardship ethics in individuals .
Across the United States nearly 3,000 Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD’s) are helping people to conserve natural resources. SWCD’s coordinate assistance from all available sources (public, private, local, state, and federal) in an effort to develop locally driven solutions to natural resource concerns. We work to protect farmlands, encourage conservation of non-farm land, educate youth and community members about natural resources, and much more.
